MAY IS WORLD TRADE MONTH

In May, TAMACC will be shining a spotlight on the crucial role of world trade in the U.S. economy and presenting valuable information and opportunities for small businesses in Texas to expand their reach into the global market.


Since 1938, May has been designated as World Trade Month in the United States, which is a time to acknowledge the significance of international trade for the U.S. economy. According to the U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis at the Department of Commerce, U.S. exports increased by 17.7 percent to reach $3.01 trillion in 2022. This total includes the highest recorded figures of $2.1 trillion for goods exports and $924.2 billion for service exports.
