The TAMACC Annual Convention is July 31 through August 2, 2014 in the Rio Grande Valley. It is one of the largest statewide business and business opportunity gatherings in Texas. Each year, TAMACC Members nominate individuals from their community for these prestigious.

 Corpus Christi Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
In 1938, a small group of local Hispanic business people and community leaders identified a need for Hispanic business organization that would help small minority and women-owned businesses grow and prosper. Together, they worked diligently to build the foundation of what is now the Corpus Christi Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. The mission of the Corpus Christi Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is to serve the business community by developing positive changes through active participation in education, leadership, public affairs, and creating business opportunities for our members, particularly small and minority owned businesses, while increasing awareness of the Hispanic heritage. |

 Cen-Tex Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
The Cen-Tex Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is located in McLennan County Waco, Texas and is one of the first Hispanic Chambers that joined TAMACC in 1975. Over the years, the Hispanic chamber has impacted the city of Waco and continues to be an asset to the city in areas of economic development, education, and improving the quality of life. As a small Hispanic Chamber, we are able to provide a one-to-one service to small businesses and entrepreneurs. The work of the chamber includes Economic development at its simple definition is a job creation organization but more-so with a "Whatever it Takes" mindset. |

 Elizabeth E. Rios-Carl - HFP Benefit Solutions
Ms. Elizabeth Rios-Carl is a stellar example of a business woman whose mission is to improve, empower and develop her own community. With over 40 years of experience in the insurance agency and 22 years specializing in employee benefits, Elizabeth E. Rios-Carl began HFP Benefit Solutions in April 2010. Mrs. Rios-Carl experienced the challenges of opening her own business and the development of the learning curve. Servicing small businesses, Benefit Solutions specializes in employee benefits as well as other commercial insurance. |

 Margarita De Leon - Gorditas Dona Tota & Pellizcadas Margarita De Leon is the founder of the Gorditas Dona Tota franchisa in the Rio Grande Valley and founder of the "Pellizcadas" Mexican food restaurant chain. Her career as a businesswoman in the United States began in 1994, starting in a trailer which then changed to an actual establishment. By July 2007, she opened a second location in Mission and from there continue to open restaurants. Now there are six restaurants with two more expected to open this year. |

 Oscar Venegas - Venegas Engineering Management & Construction Oscar Venegas spent more than 20 years preparing for the susccess he now enjoys. Venegas' career started after he graduated from the university of Texas at El Paso, with a degree in Civil Engineering. From 1982, when he first went into business for himself, until he started his present company, Venegas Engineering Management and Construction, Inc. (VEMAC) in 2003, Venegas learned the ins and outs of the construction business and gained experience as a business owner. By 2008, VEMAC was named the fastest - growing Hispanic Business in the country by Hispanic Business Magazine. |

 Diane N. De Hoyos - The University of Texas at El Paso Diane N. De Hoyos is the Director of purchasing and general Services at The University of Texas at El Paso. Diane has served in the this capacity since October of 2010. Prior to joining UTEP, Diane spent 29 years in the private sector with General Motors, Allied Signal and the Outboard Marine Corporation in the areas of procurement, Cost Reduction, Supplier Quality and Supplier Diversity. Diane has extensive professional experience in Mexico with over 12 years in the Maquiladora Industry and has led global procurement teams throughout her tenure. Diane has been an invited motivational guest lecturer for the past 25 years throughout the country sharing her experience as a successful dynamic Latina. |

 El Paso Water Utilities Public Service Board
In September, 1992, the Public Service Board Instituted a policy to use small locally-owned, minority and women-owned businesses in the purchase of supplies, materials and services to the maximum extent economically feasible. Additional subcontractors and suppliers to general contractors are the most urgently needed companies which the Utility needs to add to their vendor base. The Board has directed staff to actively provide outreach services to small, minority and woman-owned local businesses, in order to continue increasing purchases from local, minority and woman-owned businesses. |
