June is the 10th Anniversary of DACA
The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program (DACA) celebrated its 10th anniversary on June 15, 2022. The policy established on June 15, 2012, provided more than 800,000 individuals with work authorization, temporary protections from deportation and other opportunities to further their careers and pursue educational goals at higher education institutions.
Texas is home to 213,000 Dreamers, including 110,000 DACA recipients, the second highest Dreamer population after California. Nationally, there are over 1.97 million Dreamers. A Dream Act would let our state retain this talent and keep Texas competitive.

DACA recipients contribute nearly $42 billion to annual GDP. Passing a Dream Act would keep the Texas economy from losing up to $6 billion in GDP annually.
