TAMACC, TXST students, and Texas Mutual Insurance aim to save lives

Campaign to raise awareness about roadway fatalities and encourage safety

Last year, Texas had an all-time high number of roadway deaths in 40 years with 4,492 fatalities. That’s an average of 12 lost lives every day in 2021, a 15% increase from 2020.


TAMACC has partnered with Texas Mutual Insurance, Texas State University, and the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to end that streak.

This year TAMACC had the opportunity to work with public relations students at Texas State University on developing a driving safety campaign to reduce fatalities on Texas roadways. In this video, two of the students who worked on the campaign talked about what they learned.

It is a much-needed children’s book titled The Boy from Mexico. The story is about a 14-year-old boy who leaves his home and family in Mexico in search of a better life in the United States.



The Boy from Mexico is a beautifully illustrated bi-lingual children’s book that children understand and that immigrant children can relate to.
