Happy New Year!

As we prepare for a new year, we would like to take a moment, and only a few pictures, to look back on the past year to recognize the acomplishments and generosity that YOU provided. TAMACC may be turning 45 next year, but we are only getting started...
During this Legislative Year we were there, in Austin and DC. Testifying on potential bills that would grow our businesses without hindering our abilities; against diluting of the Texas Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUB0 Program; working with the White House and legislators to increase trade with the United States - Mexico - Canada Agreement; to name a few. Romeo went to visit the legislators too!

The induction of fabulous women at the 7th Annual Women of Distinction Awards luncheon. Their path to success is amazing, at times very arduous and even dangerous, but stories that need to be heard!

Meetings are incredibly important to our organization, whether it is with stakeholders such as State Agencies, our Board of Directors, or with leaders from around the country. It is during this time we are able to ensure the ship is steered correctly with input from all.

Elected officials look forward to visiting with you at the events to ensure they hear you and your concerns. Honorable Ruben Becerra, Hays County Judge, Justice Gisela Triana, 3rd Court of Appeals, Honorable Lina Hidalgo, Harris County Judge; Honorable Royce West, Texas State Senator; and Honorable Richard Raymond, Texas State Representative were only a few of those who had an audience with you.

We had the opportunity to meet some big stars, some in small aprons, ths year. Pepe Serna and a group of film directors came to the TAMACC office; we met Nayeli Mendoza, and her family; and of course Santa said we were on the NICE list.

We gained many individual members in 2019 and two additional organizations with the TAMACC Hays County Chapter and the Wharton County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. We did lose a great leader, Nelson Rodriguez, the fourth TAMACC Chairman and the first United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Chairman.
There were also a lot of fun! Enjoying a game at the Texas Rangers with Coca-Cola; reviewing the Corps of Cadets at Texas A&M University, and a Friday Customer Service workshop in Del Rio!

There were incredible businesses, leaders and chambers receiving awards during our 44th Annual Hispanic Business Convention of Texas. Pictured is El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Large Chamber of the Year; Cen-Tex Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Small Chamber of the Year; and Gina Aguirre Adams receiving the Joe Rodriguez Leadership Award.

Yes, occasionally there must be complete craziness!

Travelling is something we do a lot. However, besides all around our beautiful state of Texas we enjoyed a trip to Mexico and China. Sam Guzman, Chairman, and Pauline E. Anton, President/CEO are road warriors but need a break while preparing for our next trip. (Not pictured is our very patient driver, navigator and at times cat wrangler - J.R. Gonzales.)

Happy Thanksgiving

TAMACC has provided 44 years of leadership and advocacy. However, we could have never retained this level of service without your continued support and loyalty. We gather on Thanksgiving thankful for what we have, for the family we love, the friends we cherish, and for the blessings that will come.

Happy Thanksgiving from the Executive Committee and Staff:
Sam, Pauline, J.R., John, Juan, Jonathan, Ish,
Marie, Mike, Claudia, Laura, John, Robert

As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.” -John F. Kennedy
