From Aztec Gardens to Christmas Cheer: The Poinsettia Story Bright red, bold, and unmistakably festive, the poinsettia is a Christmas staple—but its history goes back centuries. TAMACC Opposes HUB Certification Suspension


The Texas Association of Mexican American Chambers of Commerce (TAMACC) is strongly opposing Acting Texas Comptroller Kelly Hancock’s decision to suspend new certifications under the Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) program.


TAMACC says it is working with business owners, lawmakers, and its members to push for the full reinstatement of the program. The Comptroller’s office halted new HUB certifications on October 28, 2025, citing Executive Order GA-55, which prohibits awarding state contracts based on race, ethnicity, or sex.
