History Made: White House Hosts First-Ever Film Screening with ‘The Long Game’

Thanks to the successful efforts of Texas Congressman Joaquin Castro, representing the 20th District, and Congressman Jimmy Gomez from California’s 34th District, “The Long Game” made history earlier this month as the first-ever film to be screened at the White House Executive Building. This groundbreaking moment was made possible through the sponsorship of the Hispanic Heritage Foundation.

“The Long Game” recounts the inspiring true story of Mexican American students who defied the odds to pursue their passion for sports in the 1950s in Del Rio, Texas. Such narratives are vital yet often overlooked, underscoring the importance of supporting projects that highlight our Hispanic cultural heritage.

Let us rally behind this film that celebrates our diversity by attending screenings in theaters nearby. Show your support for more films about our culture by going to a theater near you to see “The Long Game.” Let us show Hollywood that movies like this are meaningful and worth producing.
