Texas State Seeking Hispanic Business
Owners for Research Interviews
Texas State University and TAMACC are working together to conduct interviews with select Hispanic business owners for a new program called SCALEUP.

SCALEUP is focused on researching the unique challenges affecting minority-business growth and developing practical tools to help overcome these challenges.

To get a better sense of what the needs of Hispanic-owned businesses are, the McCoy College of Business is seeking business owners to interview.

The criteria for interview are:
  • Hispanic-owned
  • Located in Texas
  • 500 or fewer employees
  • Must have been in business for more than two years

Monica Muñoz Andry
Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber President & CEO

The Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (GAHCC) welcomes Monica Muñoz Andry as the chamber’s new President & CEO. Formerly the financial health program manager at University Federal Credit Union, Muñoz Andry starts her new position at the chamber on August 1, 2022.

“We’re thrilled to bring Monica, and her unique skillset, to the team at GAHCC,” said Emmy Alcocer-Hill, Board chair. “Among the many attributes that impressed the search committee was her history of leading large and small teams, small business financial health and nonprofit experience, and a customer-focused program design approach.”

Muñoz Andry is an accomplished and goal-driven professional. In her two-decade-plus career at UFCU, she rose through the not-for-profit’s operations, including serving as call center supervisor, business development manager, and financial health program manager, among other roles.
Recovery Grant Program for Texas Travel Industry Stakeholders, Small Businesses, and Economic Development Partners
Last month, the Office of the Governor announced the launch of the Texas Travel Industry Recovery Grant Program (TTIR), which began accepting applications on July 6, 2022.

Due to the overwhelming response from businesses and non-profits in the travel and tourism industry, they have extended the Category 1 application window to August 7 and have pushed back the dates of the upcoming application dates for Categories 2, 3, and 4.
United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce Searching for President & CEO

The United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce is searching for a new President and CEO. The deadline to submit for this position is August 7, 2022, by 5:00 PM.
