"FIGHT HUNGER. SPARK CHANGE."

In communities across the U.S., one in eight Americans, or nearly 40 million people, struggle with hunger, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. To raise awareness and combat the issue, Walmart, Sam’s Club, Feeding America®, participating suppliers and member food banks are kicking off their sixth annual nationwide “Fight Hunger. Spark Change.” (FHSC) campaign, which runs from April 22 to May 20. This year’s campaign aims to help Feeding America secure the Fight Hunger. Spark Change. campaign’s cumulative goal of 1 Billion Meals for local food banks.

Walmart and Sam’s Club’s customers and members can help Feeding America achieve the cumulative goal of 1 Billion Meals in three easy ways:
  • For every participating product purchased at U.S. Walmart stores, Sam’s Club, on walmart.com or samsclub.com during the campaign, the supplier will donate the monetary equivalent of one meal ($0.10) on behalf of a Feeding America member food bank, up to applicable limits.
  • Donate money to your local Feeding America member food bank at participating Walmart stores or Sam’s Clubs in the U.S.
  • Donate at feedingamerica.org/Walmart.

TAMACC QUARTERLY CONFERENCE

TAMACC’s next Quarterly Training Sessions and Board of Directors’ Meeting will be held in beautiful Corpus Christi. The United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce (UCCCC) will be our hosts for this no-cost event.

TAMACC and UCCCC are working in tandem to provide attendees topflight personal and professional development training. These training seminars and workshops are at no cost. We encourage people who have never attended a TAMACC quarterly meeting or convention to come out and experience TAMACC.

This board meeting is the last one prior to our Hispanic Business Convention of Texas. This year’s convention, the 44th gathering of TAMACC, is August 1 – 3, 2019 in San Marcos, Texas.

We are expecting new faces and some new chambers interested in becoming active TAMACC members at this quarterly meeting. There will also be a legislative update on bills that may have a negative impact on minority owned businesses.
Friday, June 14, is the day of training and educational tours followed by a reception and dinner hosted by the UCCCC.

Saturday, June 15, is the TAMACC Quarterly Board of Directors’ Meeting. This meeting is open to individual members and/or members of a TAMACC member chamber or organization.
