The Texas Association of Mexican American Chambers of Commerce (TAMACC) will recognize eight Texas businesses, individuals, and organizations during the TAMACC 40th Annual Convention and Business Expo in Austin, Texas.

                                                           

The TAMACC Annual Convention is August 6 through 8, 2015. It is one of the largest statewide business gatherings in Texas.  Each year, TAMACC Members nominate individuals and companies from their community for these prestigious awards.  
2015 Large Hispanic Chamber of the Year
El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
 
The El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce celebrates 25 years of being the advocate for small business success for their borderland community. The El Paso Hispanic Chamber has re-engineered itself to best accommodate their clients and community. With networking events, capital access, technical assistance, certifications, procurement opportunities, small business advocacy, the chamber can assist local business ventures at one convenient location. This chamber refuses to accept the status quo. They continue to explore greater possibilities for the market they serve for their members. They strive to create and implement activities that challenge the status quo against the odds in an effort to create new horizons for small, minority and women owned business to thrive and prosper.

Irving Hispanic Chamber of Commerce 

 

The Irving Hispanic Chamber of Commerce was created in 2007. They provide their members relevant and sustainable business knowledge, resources to grow and manage their company, including access to capital, training, procurement opportunities, and year-round business support. They hold various events including, monthly power hour, knowledge is power, professional and personal leadership development, Café con Nosotros and after hour networking mixers for all their members and others that want to join. Through their networking opportunities, they help make business to business connections, connect small businesses with local municipalities and help them get certified to do business with such government entities.

Del Rio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce

Del Rio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is inspired by its slogan "DRHCC is doing it right". Doing it right services to members include ribbon cuttings, newsletters, and annual business awards. Doing it right also includes monthly membership meetings hosted by a business member each month at their location, which gives everyone the opportunity to advocate for business and individual members alike. Much of what Del Rio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce has accomplished this past year is directly due to the unique way in which they conduct business. They pride themselves on personal contact with their membership and utilizing every avenue to maximize the services they provide to their membership.

Teresa Gándara

Pencil Cup Office Products, Inc. - El Paso, Texas


Pencil Cup is an independent, local, family owned and operated office supply retail story. Mrs. Gándara is a native of El Paso. She and her husband Carlos have a strong work ethic and were not scared of the hard work it would take to make their dream happen. Pencil Cup started with three customers out of the family garage. Teresa knew that if she was going to invest their money in anything she would prefer to invest in themselves, their family, their future, on their terms, doing things their way. After fifteen years they're still going strong.

Omar Veliz
Veliz Construction - El Paso, Texas
 
Veliz Construction is a company built on integrity, reliability, and performance. The company, under the direction of Mr. Veliz specializes in design build projects. The Collaboration of designers and builders is the foundation of design-build. Veliz Construction delivers superb customer service through the dedication and hard work of not only its owner, but its employees as well. Mr. Veliz' dedication to the community extends beyond the business community. Mr. Veliz has been a champion of small, local businesses consistently helping the chamber shape its response and comments on legislation at the local, state and federal level, advocating on behalf of chamber members.

The Honorable Cesar Blanco

Texas State Representative

 
Representative Blanco, throughout his campaign and his first term in office, has consistently been a friend and partner of the El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. His interactions with our business members allow him to have a better understanding of the struggles and issues that many of our local businesses face. This has helped him gain a better idea of how various legislations at the state level can impact businesses. Representative Blanco has consistently demonstrated deep commitment to meeting with business owners in the area and ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed at a state level.
2015 Corporate Hispanic Business Advocate of the Year

The goal of the Kroger's Supplier Diversity Program is to foster the promotion, growth and development of minority, women and other diverse owned enterprises. Kroger is a complex company. Kroger established a corporate-wide Supplier Diversity Program more than thirty years ago. The program has played an important role in developing Kroger's diverse suppliers by assisting them with analyzing their business capabilities to determine whether their products or services fit within Kroger's corporate strategies and the marketplace as a whole.
