We the Hispanos: The Untold Story of America’s Founding


As the United States celebrates its 250th anniversary, it’s time to revisit a chapter of American history that has too often been overlooked. In this episode of the Latino Business Report, J.R. Gonzales sits down with Martha Vera, LLM, MS, Honorary Consul of Spain in El Paso, to discuss We the Hispanos. This groundbreaking documentary explores the vital role of Spain and Hispanics in the founding of America. We the Hispanos Foundation Launches National Initiative Celebrating Hispanic Contributions to Americas Founding

 

As the United States commemorates the 250th anniversary of its independence, the We the Hispanos Foundation is inviting the community to a special evening celebrating the often-overlooked role Hispanics played in the founding of our nation.


The event marks the launch of a national educational initiative centered on the feature documentary We the Hispanos, directed by internationally acclaimed, multiple Goya Award-winning filmmaker José Luis López-Linares. The film highlights the military, financial, diplomatic, and cultural contributions of Spanish and Hispanic men and women whose efforts helped secure American independence.


Hosted by the We the Hispanos Foundation, the evening will bring together business, civic, education, and community leaders to support a nationwide campaign that will expand access to this important chapter of American history through theaters, public television, schools, museums, and community organizations.
