The Texas Association of Mexican American Chambers of Commerce (TAMACC) will honor these twelve-outstanding business and community leaders at the sixth annual Women of Distinction Awards luncheon Friday, October 27, 2017 at the Four Seasons Hotel, 98 San Jacinto Boulevard, Austin, Texas 78701 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM.
Woman of Distinction describes the image of a strong, passionate, dedicated leader who is having a positive impact in the lives of those around her and her community. Here are some excerpts of what these women of distinction have accomplished: The growth of her company from the kitchen table to a spacious office and board room; 35 years in the healthcare and hospice industry to starting a new and major floral business; Highest ranking Latina of a major state agency; First Hispanic to be assigned solo anchor to a main weekday newscast of a major television channel; First woman elected as County Attorney of El Paso County; Vice President of Student Services of a major community college; Director of Business Intelligence for a major technology company; Awarded the prestigious State Star award given to one employee from each State/Region for strong commitment and accomplishments in behalf of small businesses; Interim Southwest Regional Counsel for MALDEF; Two terms as Deputy State Director for the Elderly for LULAC; Pioneered the first Hispanic Marketing Agency in the Dallas area; First Latina United States Immigration Judge.
