Here to Work Summit Unites 2,200+ Leaders in Washington, DC, Advocating for Extended Work Permits for Long-Term Immigrants
This week, a historic gathering of over 2,200+ leaders convened at the Here to Work Summit in Washington, DC, passionately advocating for the extension of work permits to long-term immigrants who have dedicated decades to working and contributing to the nation.
Organized by the American Business Immigration Coalition (ABIC), the summit served as a powerful platform for leaders from various sectors to come together and urge President Biden to consider the vital issue of work permit extensions for immigrants who have worked diligently and fulfilled their tax obligations for many years.
The “Here to Work” Summit kicked off on Monday, November 13, with 821 attendees, representing a diverse cross-section of society, including employers from construction, engineering, healthcare/hospitals, hospitality, and manufacturing. Advocates, faith leaders, labor representatives, and directly impacted immigrants, including dreamers without DACA, US citizens married to undocumented spouses, and long-term workers, also actively participated.
