Texting and driving is a widespread problem, with severe consequences. The National Safety Council reports that 1.6 million crashes occur annually due to cell phone use while driving, causing almost 390,000 injuries. One in four car accidents in the U.S. is due to texting and driving, a habit particularly prevalent among younger drivers.


Despite the risks, many people continue to text and drive. This dangerous behavior is six times more likely to cause an accident than driving drunk.
