Nominate a Woman of Distinction Today! Deadline is April 17, 2015 The number of influential Hispanic women in business and leadership roles across the country continues to grow.  Latinas are firmly established players in the country's economic, political, and social landscape and making enormous contributions in this country.  TAMACC recognizes the accomplishments, contributions and positive impact that Texas Hispanic women have made in our country and the world.   TAMACC will be honoring twelve (12) Women of Distinction during the Fourth Annual Women of Distinction Awards Luncheon.  TAMACC is looking for nominations either on behalf of or from a woman who has made great strides and betterment in their community.   These nomination forms may be obtained by telephoning TAMACC at (512) 444-5727, visiting the website at www.TAMACC.org, or by e-mailing Pauline E. TAMACC Signs Agreements in Support of HUB Program

Anton                          Executive Director                          (512) 444-5727                          panton@tamacc.org TAMACC Signs Agreements in Support of HUB Program Memorandum of Cooperation with 16 State Agencies and Universities AUSTIN - The Texas Association of Mexican American Chambers of Commerce (TAMACC) will be signing a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) with sixteen (16) state agencies and universities on Tuesday, March 31, 2015.   The purpose of this "good faith" agreement is to create a mutually beneficial relationship between the agencies and universities listed below, which will encourage and assist the development of Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUBs) within the State of Texas.  Furthermore, the agreement is intended to facilitate the accessibility of information regarding the purchase procedures and HUB programs of the involved agencies, to our member Chambers of Commerce and Organizations, and businesses throughout the state.   These agreements assist TAMACC in conjunction with the agencies and universities to provide outreach activities, technical assistance, education, and increase the number of certified businesses which provides more knowledge and awareness of procurement opportunities through bidding on current contracts.   "I am truly enthused to see the commitment of so many agencies to Hispanic business.  Texas has over 600,000 Hispanic businesses and working with Hispanic business creates greater competition, which is not only good for the tax payer but great for the economic development of the great state of Texas," said Roland Barrera, TAMACC Chairman of the Board.   The HUB Program focuses on businesses that are at least 51% owned by an Asian Pacific American, Black American, Hispanic American, Native American, American woman and/or Service Disabled Veteran, who reside in Texas and actively participate in the control, operations, and management of the entity's affairs.
